نبذة مختصرة عن تاريخ جامع النبي يونس (عليهِ السلام) في مدينة الموصل
Nabi younis (pbuh) mosque is located on a hill repentance and this big hill Located call up on the people of the village of Mosul (Nineveh village)
يقع جامع النبي يونس (عليهِ السلام) على تل التوبة وهذا التل الكبير تقع عليهِ قرية يسميها أهل الموصل (قرية نينوى)
And at the foot of the hill is located was masque of the prophet younis (pbuh) one of the important ancient mosque in the left coast of the city of Mosul , Said that out of the mosque was a temple of the Persians
وعلى سفح التل الغربي يقع جامع النبي يونس (عليهِ السلام) وهو احد الجوامع القديمة والمهمة في الساحل الايسر من مدينة الموصل . يقال إن اصل الجامع كان معبدا للفرس
Then after the spread of Christianity in Mosul restorer turned in to monastery in the name (monastery Jonan son of Amittai)
ثم بعد انتشار المسيحية في الموصل تحول المعبد الى دير باسم (دير يونان بن امتاي)
It is one of the prophets of bane Israel know in the Bible and know to Muslims (younis bin matti)
وهو احد انبياء بني إسرائيل المذكورين في التوراة والمعروف عند المسلمين ب(يونس بن متي)
Also known as " thunnoun" Any owner of "whale" . Noun here writing about the city of Mosul Which reached a degree of luxury and rarity and corruption and unbearable
ويعرف كذلك باسم "ذو النون" اي صاحب "الحوت " او النون هنا كناية عن مدينة الموصل والتي وصلت الى درجةالترف والبطر والفساد التي لا تطاق
After entering the Arabs and Muslims in Mosul 16 AH 637 AD and became a mountain or a hill repentance san citify have
وبعد دخول العرب والمسلمين الموصل سنة 16 هجرية و637 ميلادية صار لجبل او تل التوبة حرمة لديهم
Because the people of Nineveh repented to God they are standing before
God packet repentance revealed agony
لان اهل نبنوى تابوا الى الله وهم واقفين عليه فقبل الله توبتهم وكشف عنهم العذاب
As stated in surah yuonis
كما ورد ذلك في الآية الكريمة في سورة يونس
in the name of god the Merciful
Why was there not a single township (among those We warned), which believed - so its Faith should have profited it - except the People of Younis ? When they believed, We removed from them the Penalty of Ignominy in the life of the Present, and permitted them to enjoy (their life) for a while

{98} فَلَوْلَا كَانَتْ قَرْيَةٌ آمَنَتْ فَنَفَعَهَا إِيمَانُهَا إِلَّا قَوْمَ يُونُسَ لَمَّا آمَنُوا كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُمْ عَذَابَ الْخِزْيِ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَمَتَّعْنَاهُمْ إِلَى حِينٍ
