For a blessed Eid 
The meaning of Eid: Lingual meaning: every day have a gathering, it came from the verb ('ada, Ya'od: as id they returned back to it). Some said it was derive from (Al'adah: the habit; because they got used to it. Ibn Ale'rabi stated: it was called Eid because it return back with new happiness every year (1). Conventional meaning: the original meaning of eid is the time period of social happiness and delight e.g.: victory on an enemy, birthday of someone important, or relief after hardship etc.. So Eid meaning happiness, delight, and pleasure because of a specific occasion. Happiness and pleasure must be for something in certain e.g Eid Alghadeer included happiness because in that day the religion became completely perfect by pledging elegance to Ali bin Abu-Taleb (SAWA), Eid Aladha included happiness because of finishing the duty of Hajj, during that day every pilgrim get happy because he did a good deed, obeyed Allah, and gained the satisfaction of Allah the Almighty which makes him happy. Eid Alfeter: people get happy during that time because they finished the month of Ramadan, and did the duty of fasting for the sake of Allah. Thus Eid is the happiness for obeying Allah the Almighty and completing the duty, then the faithful get happy because he obeyed Allah and gained the forgiveness for his sins, and what Allah has promised his servants of many benefactions. We have to know the meaning of Eid and how to be happy and delighted during it and for what we get happy. Are we supposed to be happy for finishing the month of Ramadan? Or for the legalization of food and drinks etc? How to understand Eid in the right way? Many people do not understand the correct meaning of Eid as Allah the Almighty wanted. They understand it as an announcement of finishing the ban and prohibition which was legalized on eating food etc. Other people lenience with the duties of the religion and being carless about it during the time of Eid. Sometimes gender segregation happens when they visit their relatives, rather some people used to shake the hands of women or being carless about hejab because Eid is the time of happiness and pleasure. Some people go to the places of entertainment and pleasure as if Eid means to them is to return back to the previous life which they had before the month of Ramadan, including all the forbiddance of Allah the Almighty and abandon every status and deeds which they got him closer to Allah the almighty during the month of Ramadan. They ignore the holy tradition: "He whose days are the same is aggrieved, and he whose yesterday was better than today is cursed. (2)" Thus we have to notice our actions because by doing this bad deeds we will destroy everything we gained during the blessed month of Ramadan. The month of Ramadan is school and a source of tenders , which we must take from it and influenced by it, so the tenders won't last for short time only and finishes by the end of Ramadan, but this spiritual tenders should continue. Also next Ramadan should be a supplement station to what comes after, and we should work on making the worships of Ramadan into practical reality during the whole year. Eid means to return to Allah the Almighty The origin of the word Eid in Arabic is (Awd; to return), thus Eid gives the meaning of returning back to Allah the Almighty, Because Eid day is one of the days of Allah which Allah the Almighty the Greatest speaker said: (And remind them of the days of Allah (3)). For this reason, Imams (SAWA) gathered during these days number of good deeds e.g prayers, supplications, and Zikr (reminding of Allah) to prepare human especially on the days of Eid, and other holy times to Allah alone, you could read amongst the supplications of Eid: (…O Allah, if one, on this day, prepares oneself, takes pains, gets ready, or prepares oneself to visit another one, hoping for his aid, gifts, benefits, and grants; for You alone, my Lord, is my readiness, preparations, taking pains, training, and inclination in the hope of gaining Your aid, gifts, grants, benefits, bounties, and donations..) (4). Thus Eid has a meaning which some members of the society cannot understand. They understand it as freedom from commitment and restriction which they were forced to follow them. You could see them being happy at the End of the month as if it was a heavy material on their back. In the other hand you see some people really grieved and in pain for farewell the blessed month of Ramadan, for its blesses, the promises for forgiveness, the emancipation from hell, and the satisfaction of Allah the Almighty. So the real Eid as described by the commander of the faithful (SAWA): "Everyday with no disobediences is Eid" (5). Suwaid bin Ghaflah said: "I entered on the commander of the faithful (SAWA) on the day of Eid. I saw him eating very simple food!" Suwaid was astonished because it was Eid day. Then the commander of the faithful (SAWA) said to him: " This is the Eid for the forgiven once!" (6). This is the correct understanding of Eid. How to return to Allah the Almighty? how to return to Allah the Almighty especially in such occasion as Eid? How to let ourselves to love the faith? How to save God's blessings which we gained during the month of Ramadan ? How to protect the worshiping spirit because many people during the month of Ramadan doing the special works and du'as of every night and following a spiritual programs of every day and night, as if the month of Ramadan a perfect worshiping schedule which helps individuals to get closer to Allah and gain the spirit of worships, so you could see him remembering Allah all the time. How can you make the Quran your lifetime company, not only during Ramadan? And how to keep that feeling of the needy and the this spiritual atmosphere which Allah the Almighty wants? The answer: to save this atmosphere and to make all our life as Ramadan by getting closer to Allah the Almighty and not allowing Eid to be the end of reading Quran , the daily supplications, and the end of swapping the food and drinks between neighbors and relatives. Rather we should make Eid to return to Allah the Almighty and extra strict of following the orders and obeying Allah. There are many incentives to help us and attract us towards Allah the Almighty. The incentives which urges us to adherence to Allah the Almighty 1. every sane person supposed to return the favor towards the once who are nice to him, and to reward the goodness aught of goodness (Is the reward of goodness aught but goodness? (7)) The goodness and favors of Allah are so many; shall we reward him back with disobediences or by worshipping and getting closer to Him? 2. Every one looking for getting more benefactions, which are in the hands of Allah the Almighty because he is the real Bestower of sustenance, and He the Almighty promised us (If you are grateful, I would certainly give to you more(8)). Also in the blessed hadith "By being thankful sustenance will remain" 3. If a truthful person told us that a wild animal in a specific direction then we run away the opposite of that direction , beware of it, and take reserves to avoid danger. Also if another trusted person confirmed this report then we increase our preparations. Then what should we do if 124000 prophet confirmed there will be a judgment day, where the obedient being rewarded for his obedience, and the disobedient will be punished for his sins by a fire whose fuel is men and stones. Doesn’t this force us to be alerted and stay away from everything which pulls us to that blaze fire? 4. to be aware that Allah the Almighty looks at us, nothing is hidden from him in the skies or on earth, and he is closer to us than life-vein. Add to that he ordered angels to each of us to record our deeds in a book which does not omit a small one nor a great one, and he established witnesses on that; our organs which we use in our life. The Almighty said: (And they shall say to their skins: Why have you borne witness against us? They shall say: Allah Who makes everything speak has made us speak (9)) Doesn’t this make us to look after our deeds and behaviors before we commit sins? I ask Allah to protect me and you from sins, and keeps us firm in our speeches and actions. The reward of visiting Imam Hussain on the day and eve of the Eid Imam Al-Sadiq (AS) said: "Allah will forgive all the past and future sins of one who performs the Ziyarat (visit) of Imam Husain (AS) on one of the three eves. Eve of Eid Alfitr, eve of Eid Al-Adha, and eve of fifteenth Shaban." In other narrations, Musa bin Ja'far AS said: Three nights! Whoever visit Hussain AS during them his sins will be forgiven, the past and future once; Eve of mid of Shaban, eve of 23rd of Ramadan, and Eve of Eid which is the eve of Eid Alfitr. How to visit Imam Hussain? . When you reach the gate of the holy shrine, you may profess Almighty Allah’s most greatness and say: Peace be on you, O the son of the Messenger of Allah! Peace be on you, O the son of the Ameer ul Moomineen! Peace be on you, O the son of the truthful pure Fatimah, the leader of the women of the worlds! Peace be on you, O my master! O Aba Abdillah, and the mercy and blessings of Allah! I bear witness that you established the prayers, gave the prescribed share to the needy, commanded to do that which is right and lawful, not to do that which is wrong and unlawful, studied and cherished the ideas of the Book as ought to be, strived in the way of Allah, leaving no stone unturned, while directing affairs in the light of the boundaries laid down by Allah, exercised self-control bravely in the midst of offensive provocations, till the inevitable came unto you. I bear witness that those who opposed you and waged war against you, those who abandoned you, and those who killed you, are the accursed as per the declaration of the Prophet whom no one gave lessons. Verily, whoso tells a lie is a loser. Curse of Allah be on those who persecuted you, from among the pioneers and the followers, ever growing tormenting punishment. I have come to you O my master the son of the Messenger of Allah, for your “ziyaarat”, fully aware of your rights, closely attached to your friends, hostile to your enemies, attentive and alive to the guidance which you had and made known, mindful of the waywardness which leads to your opposition, so, speak on my behalf to your Lord. Peace be on you, O the decisive argument of Allah on His earth and in His heaven. Blessings of Allah be on your refined soul and pure body, and peace be on you, O my master also mercy and blessings of Allah. Then visit Ali Alakbar with: Peace be on you, O my master, and the son of my master, Mercy of Allah (he on you), and His blessings. May Allah curse he who oppressed you, and may Allah curse he who killed you, and increase on them the painful punishment. Then visit martyrs of Karbala: Peace be on you, O the truthful ones. Peace be on you, O the patient martyrs. I bear witness that you, struggled in the way of Allah, and were patient in troubles on the side of Allah, and you exhorted (in the way of),Allah and His Messenger, Until death came to you. I bear witness that you are alive, being sustained by Your Lord. May Allah reward you, on behalf of Islam and its people, the best reward of the doers of good. And (may He) unite us with you, in the place of blessings (Heaven) Then visit Abu-Alfathel Al-Abbas (AS): Peace be on you, O son of Ameerul Mu’mineen. Peace be on you, O the virtuous servant, obedient to Allah and His Messenger. I bear witness that you struggled, and advised (others) and were patient until death came to you.
